Adoption

Adoption is defined as the legal process to add a family member; however, adoption is much more than a “legal experience”. The adoption process can be like an emotional roller coaster ride which encompasses all of the basic human emotions: fear, anger, guilt, sadness, joy, surprise, trust, and anticipation.  Emotional ups and downs are normal during this process. Kim Murray, Esq. understands personally what you are going through and we will be with you every step of the journey (and with every twist, turn, and dip).  Adoptive parents need a lawyer who can guide them through the journey with compassion, responsiveness, skill and transparency.

Adoption is a beautiful and loving way to create a family; but, the journey is often like an emotional roller coaster ride!

ABOUT US

How We Help

Kim Murray, Esq. serves as an intermediary, which is a type of adoption entity Florida law authorizes to place children for adoption. Unlike large adoption agencies or large law firms, we are a boutique practice which specializes strictly in adoption and assisted reproduction cases. So that we can better serve our clients and render competent, personalized service to each case, we also limit the number of hopeful adoptive parents seeking matches. This allows us to increase the chances for a match that results in a successful placement.

Adoptions vary as widely as the families and children involved. Each placement is personally and individually selected, taking into consideration the emotional, financial and other special needs and desires of all parties. We handle adoption in Florida and throughout the country in compliance with Interstate Compact and the Placement of Children (ICPS). Unlike a large adoption agency, we provide personal attention and compassion to each individual situation.

Please contact us to obtain our application and to set up a complimentary consultation. You will also need to obtain a home study and prepare a profile book. We can connect you with private firms to assist in completing your home study and to assist you with creating your profile book (or you can create the profile book yourself).

Each adoption is individually tailored to meet the requests of both the adoptive parents and the birth family. While we represent the adoptive parents, our attorneys meet with the birth mothers to provide guidance from adoptive parent match through execution of consents, termination of parental rights and finalization of the adoption.
