Unplanned Pregnancy?
Kim Murray, Esq. understands that circumstances may not always be ideal for parenting a child. Adoption is a loving option for an unplanned pregnancy. We will help you pick the perfect adoptive family to provide the loving and supportive home you desire for your child. If yours is a situation in which DCF involvement is a possibility, we can assist you without DCF involvement, thus allowing the baby to leave the hospital in the arms of the family you have personally selected. As a birth parent, there is no cost to you. Pregnancy is a challenging journey even under the best of circumstances and we want to be sure that yours is as stress-free as possible. Our support system includes the following:
- Personalized Adoption – We have an extensive network and resources to help you find the right match. Whether you envision an open adoption, closed adoption, or something in between, we will work together to be sure that you have made the best match for both you and your baby.
- Financial Assistance – Florida law allows expectant parents to receive payment for their living and medical expenses and other expenses, including pre-birth and post-birth counseling. This may include payment for rent, food, utilities, phone, maternity clothing, and transportation. Together we will develop a budget to help alleviate financial pressures during pregnancy.
- Counseling – We will assist you with obtaining private counseling through our supportive network of independent counselors and social workers. We, along with the counselors and social workers, can assist you with determining a hospital plan, which includes who will be present for delivery and what contact you wish to have with the baby and the adoptive family in the hospital. You might also wish to receive pictures and letters from the adoptive family and, perhaps, even arrange periodic visits. This understanding can be incorporated into a Post-Adoption Contract Agreement (“PACA”) that will be signed by you and the family before or after birth.
